I worked very hard to build excellent credit and do not want to touch me. One can help?
If it is more than 10 years since the last payment made, debts are outlawed. You no longer have a legal obligation to pay. Send the collection agency a letter stating that you are aware of their rights and the limitation period has expired. Send your letter by certified mail and keep copies of your records. It is illegal to return to the age old debts. The reporting period for reporting bureas credit debt is 7 years. After the debt limit has been exceeded of age, can not be re-evaluated.
