debt income ratio calculator

Debt to Income ratio?

I am working on a debt to income ratio project and I am at the point where I need to do an explanation of the project including calculations. How do I do this without using a DTI calculator?

Add up all the debts, D
Add up all the income, I
Calculate D/I
The answer is the debt to income ratio.
You can express your answer as a fraction, or in
decimal form.
A value >1 means D is >I. You are in debt. The bigger
the number, the greater the debt.
A value <1 means D owe, so eventually D can be made 0,and the ratio
becomes 0: absolutely no debts.
