How do you get your credit score to go up?

My credit score is at 668 and has not change in a year. I took out loans and paid them off. I am current on all my bills, car, loans, and credit cards. Why hasn’t my credit score gone up? Should i pay off my credit cards all at once again, I tried that last year but i guess that doesn’t work. What are some of your suggestions to get my credit score up, I saw an ad that said 700 is a good credit score.

Your credit score is good now. To raise it, try to keep your debt under half of what you have available. So, if one credit card have a $5000. limit, keep the balance at under $2500. (about $1200. would be even better). Pay more than the minimum payments, substantially more. Don’t apply for any more credit for a couple of years. You can pay your cards and debt off completely, but do it over a period of time, such as 6 months.

Start a savings account for emergencies. Experts say you should have 4-6 months of living expenses in liquid savings. If that seems overwhelming, start with baby-steps. Save, say, $100. per month, and don’t spend it, no matter what.
