Why only have one free credit report per year? Why is it that credit scores when you get out?

I do not understand why we can not qualify (through the government) to see our credit reports or accounts more than once a year. Why investigate matter, you can download? All this seems very unfair.

You have two problems here, so I will separate them to make it easier to answer: 1) Technically, you get three free annual credit reports. Each credit reporting agency (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion) is required to give one free report per year. You do not have to ask all at once. A simple trick people use is to ask their reports from Equifax in January, a report from Experian in May, and TransUnion report in September. Companies that try to convince you need to check all three while trying to make money from you. You can guarantee that if there was a problem with your credit card (such as opening of a single credit card in your name, or a payment is late), would be visible in the three reports and and catch it in a convenient report. 2) I believe that "Check it" you refer to requests for credit information. "There are two types of credit inquiries: research and consultations sweet unit. While it is true that every time you check your credit report or other persons to check your credit (as owner or employer), which appear in his report credit, are considered soft inquiries and do not affect or change your current FICO score at all. Credit applications are difficult credit questions banks, credit cards, the car dealers, mortgage companies or inspect your credit with the specific purpose of opening a new account. Too many difficult questions in a short period of time can lower your FICO score. The underlying theory is that if you suddenly start to apply for 10 different cards credit you can try to get timely access to credit because they need cash and can not pay. If you are concerned about the difficult research lower your FICO score then just do not open new accounts. Every organization will conduct a survey "hard" credit must first obtain permission to do so.
